TWO DAY WORKSHOP ON PUBLIC FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (PFMS) :-
A Two day workshop on Public Financial Management System (PFMS) for Govt. Colleges in Mizoram was conductedon 23& 24 January 2017)at Aizawl Club, Conference Hall.The Workshop was organized by the State Project Directorate, Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA).
Mr. S. Francis, Sr. Account Officer, CGA, Ministry of Finance served as a resource person. The first day of the Workshop was for RUSA Institutional Coordinators and Data Operators handling the PFMS. Principals of Govt. Colleges and representatives from Mizoram Finance Department joint the Workshop on the second day. Prof. K.L Pradhan, Member Secretary, State Higher Education Council –cum- Additional State Project Director, RUSA chaired the workshop. Speech from the Commissioner & Secretary, Higher & Technical Education Dept. –cum- State Project Director, RUSA, Mr. Benjamina was followed by technical session with Mr. S. Francis as the Resource person.
As Central Government has made it mandatory to transfer and do all transaction of fund under CSSs through PFMS portal, RUSA under the Ministry of Human Resource Development has been made active in implementing PFMS. Since 1stApril 2016 all transactions of RUSA fund at the State by State Higher Education Council, RUSA, State Project Directorate and RUSA Beneficiary Colleges have been taken place through PFMS portal only.
PFMS is expected to check misappropriation of fund as well as excessive delay in utilization of funds.
